A Call to St. Louis Polonia
For the Support of the Installation of the
General Casimir Pulaski Monument
in St. Louis County’s Jefferson Barracks Park
The Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and the Polish Consulate General in Chicago have funded the creation of a monument dedicated to General Casimir Pulaski, “the Father of American cavalry,” and hero of the American Revolutionary War. It will be placed in Jefferson Barracks Park, an area of 426 acres which was part of the Jefferson Barracks Military Post, decommissioned in 1946 after the end of World War II, and located in St. Louis County, Missouri on the Mississippi river. Jefferson Barracks County Park is placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The monument, designed and fashioned by The Boleslaw Kochanowski Studio in Junction City, Wisconsin, consists of a bust of the general on a pedestal, and will have a plaque listing Pulaski’s contributions during the war.
Additional funds are needed for installation and maintenance so if you wish to make a tax-deductible donation, send a check made out to:
