On October 19, 2018, General Consul Piotr Janicki of Polish Consulate in Chicago introduced Mr. Wojciech Golik as a new Honorary Consul in St Louis. Sat Aug. 11, 2 PM St Louis Public Library Carpenter Branch and Saint Louis Polonia hosted an event commemorating 1944 Warsaw Uprising. Many thanks to all the St Louis Public Library staff, the event patrons and participants who made this possible; Kudos to Marek Jankowicz for sharing his photos of the event. We had the pleasure of participating at MIRCIM in Krakow, Poland; which is an international board review course led by McMaster University in Canada in partnership with Jagiellonian University.  The Auschwitz Review course had 200 participants who listened to state of the art lectures. One of the lectures was truly life changing by Professor Wanda Połtawska  who was a clinical psychiatrist at Jagiellonian and survivor of clinical experiments done at the concentration camp.  The Best Case report featured 16 countries with trainees who were given 6 minutes to present unique and compelling case reports from their home institutions.   MIRCM [...]

We wanted to bring your attention to a feature documentary film entitled ‘NANA’ that will be making its world premiere on November 6th at 12:30pm at the St. Louis International Film Festival (Plaza Frontenac Cinema)  The film was partially shot in Poland (Warsaw, Krakow, Bedzin) last year, and is about a Bedzin-born Holocaust survivor.
